Join RMAEP Utah on Thursday, March 12th, 2026 from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm for an informative talk from the Utah Department of Environmental Quality's (UDEQ's) Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control (DWMRC). Hear more about the Environmental Cleanup Program (ECP) from the Hazardous Waste Cleanup Program Manager herself - Paige Walton! She and Jasin Olsen will be giving an overview of the DWMRC ECP, including the different types of closures within the program.

Prior to working for the State, Paige Walton was in consulting for 30 years, specializing in RCRA, CERCLA, and human health and ecological risk assessments. Paige started her career like many of you – in the field. She admits she’ll jump at any chance to get out of the office and in the field and especially if the weather is nice. She loves having a platform to share knowledge and to mentor and says that this is her favorite part of her current job at UDEQ.

Jasin Olsen works as an environmental scientist in the Hazardous Waste Cleanup Section at the Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control.  At the Division he oversees cleanup projects at sites like the former Geneva Steel facility and the Tooele Army Depot North Area.  Prior to work at the state, Jasin worked in consulting, performing site characterization and remediation at sites like Hill Air Force Base, Kennecott Copper Mine, and the Veterans Administration Hospital.  Jasin recently became the proud grandpa of identical twin boys, who he can sometimes tell apart.

Lunch will be served at this event. Please email any dietary restrictions to [email protected] by EOD on Thursday, March 5th.
