RMAEP Utah Chapter June Luncheon Event

Thank you, Utah! After all of you made our Utah kickoff event such a success, we are excited to have our second meeting meeting June 21st. The meeting will be held at the offices of Snell and Wilmer, located in Salt Lake City.

We've had so much interest in meetings and membership that we've decided to encourage as many people to join as possible by offering a free membership to anyone that registers for Utah's June event. Just give the RMAEP host your name and email at the meeting and we'll take care of the rest. We just want to say thank you to everyone that has been invested in making RMAEP a success in Utah.

Lunch will be served.

The speakers will be Megan Neiderhiser, PE, Principal at Ramboll, and Ryan Bares and Sheila Vance with Utah DEQ.

Megan's talk will be on Evolving Utah Air Quality Trends and Regulatory Developments, and focused on topics important to Utah environmental professionals. Ryan and Sheila will speak on the UDEQ's ozone state implementation plan.

Megan Neiderhiser has 18 years of professional experience in the air quality arena, covering air dispersion modeling, air permitting and compliance, EJ analysis, human health risk assessment and NEPA evaluation. She is also skilled in emissions estimation, greenhouse gas management and sustainability planning. Megan has worked closely with regulators (such as BLM, FAA, UDAQ, USEPA) on many projects. Megan also has extensive experience with AEDT, AERMOD, CalEEMod, MOVES and other emissions and dispersion modeling software tools. Megan has specialized experience in the Airport sector and was recently elected as the Airports Council International - Environmental Committee Air Quality Co-Chair. Megan received a Masters’ in Environmental Engineering from the University of California Berkeley. Megan oversees the San Francisco and Salt Lake City air quality practice, comprised of 45 practitioners. Megan is a registered PE in Utah and Colorado.

Ryan Bares’s career in air quality started while conducting research at the University of Utah in the Departments of Biology and Atmospheric Sciences.  During this time, Ryan participated in a wide array of studies looking at the convergence of anthropogenic emissions, atmospheric transport, and the resulting atmospheric chemistry.  Through this research he gained a great appreciation for policy solutions that bridge the gap between research and real world solutions aimed at addressing pressing air quality challenges. This appreciation led Ryan to his current position working as an Environmental Scientist for the Utah Division of Air Quality, where he serves as the State Implementation Plan coordinator for ozone pollution along the greater Wasatch Front

Sheila Vance's bio will be distributed soon.

Thank you to Denise Dragoo with Snell and Wilmer for hosting this event! Parking is available at the City Creek Mall. Be sure to bring your ticket to get it validated. The talk will be in the conference room on the 4th floor.
